This Privacy Policy explains how Ben Marsh Interactive Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses your information in the UK Snow Map mobile app (“the App”). We are registered in England and Wales and act as the Data Controller under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We collect only what’s necessary to operate and improve the App:

• Device & usage data – anonymous analytics, app version, and crash logs.
• Location data – if you grant permission, used to show snow and weather reports near you.
• Subscription data – limited identifiers (email or transaction ID) provided by Apple or Google to verify active subscriptions.
• User content – snow reports or comments you choose to submit.

We do not collect payment details; all transactions are handled securely by Apple App Store or Google Play.

• To operate core features of the App.
• To confirm and manage subscriptions.
• To maintain security and performance.
• To analyse anonymised usage trends and improve future versions.

We rely on legitimate interests and consent (where required, e.g. location) as lawful bases for processing.

Your data may be stored on secure servers in the UK or EEA.

We use encryption and access controls to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.

4. Sharing of Information

We only share limited data with:

• Apple or Google – for purchase and entitlement verification.
• Analytics and error-reporting services – to improve reliability (data is pseudonymised).
• Trusted IT providers – who help us operate the App under data-processing agreements.
